After waiting for two years, Alice in Borderlands finally back to Netflix with an absolutely killer second season. But after wrapping up those eight intense episodes, fans are eager to know if there will be more.
Alice in Borderlands season 2 saw Arisu and Usagi team up with familiar faces from season 1 and new characters as they battle against the citizens of Borderland Face Cards. Countless players died, new alliances were formed, and there was one massive, game-changing reveal at the end of the season.
With all that in mind, here’s everything we know about Alice in Borderlands season 3, and all we can now speculate about is what might happen next.
Will There Be an Alice in Borderland Season 3?

Nothing has been confirmed yet about the third season of the film series, but then again, it has just been released! If the show does well with viewers and reaches the Top 10 charts worldwide, there’s a good chance that Alice in Borderlands may return for season 3.
Netflix renewed the first season two weeks after it was released. Based on that, fans can probably expect to hear about the show’s future at some point in January 2023. Stay tuned! When will Alice in Borderland Season 3 Release?
There have been rumors that a third season of Alice in Borderland is in the works, but there is no official word yet on whether or not the show will continue. We must remain hopeful because there is still much to learn about this story.
Fans had to wait more than 2 years for season 2 to come out after the first season. Both seasons come out in December. But that doesn’t mean we have to mark Christmas 2024 on our calendars.
The pandemic did slow down production of the second season, which was the reason for the two year wait. Season three could be out as early as December 2023, if all goes well.
Even though a year is a long time, we don’t take the word “beginning” seriously. However, if you want the best production values, you shouldn’t rush things.
The problem is that everything seems to be explained after the second season. We discover where Arisu and his friends have been all this time, why the town is strangely empty, and why they keep meeting deranged psychopaths with a playing card theme.
What’s the Plot of Alice in Borderland Season 3?

Article Updated On 4 May 2023
Season 2 ends with the explosion of a bomb in the form of a Joker card and one big question that remains: Do they really exist in the real world or are they still in an alternate reality?
At the end of season 2, after defeating all face cards (despite narrowly losing them all), Arisu, Usagi, Chishiya, Kuina, Aguni, Ann, and Akane all decline the offer to remain as permanent residents in Borderlands.
As a result, they shift back to what was looked as the original reality. The day they entered the Borderlands, they were actually hit by a meteor that exploded over Tokyo, causing them to lose consciousness. Some suffered more severe injuries, and some even had their hearts stopped.
At the end of season 2, the cast is seen recovering in the hospital, although they don’t remember anything or anyone at all. In the final scene, we see Arisu and Usagi meeting. Even though they didn’t know each other, they felt a familiarity.
This is where season 3’s storyline potential comes into play. The final moment of Season 2 shows a deck of cards on a table. They are blown away by a gust of wind but one card remains: The Joker. (Yep, looks like the game isn’t over!)
Season 3 – If it happens – it will likely focus on the Joker and his role in Borderlands. It can even involve a series of new games that can be even more painful and twisted than the ones before them.
The cast of Alice in Borderland Season 3

We will definitely see more of Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) in season 3 because they saw themselves thrown into the real world. Well, at least what they are think is the real world.
After being almost killed by the King of Spades, Kuina (Aya Asahina), Ann (Ayaka Miyoshi), Aguni (Sho Aoyagi) and Akane (Yuri Tsunematsu) have all stuck around and refuse to accept permanent residency in the Borderlands as well, so here’s hoping we see more of them.
Seeing as Chishiya (Nijirô Murakami) and Niragi (Dori Sakurada) also made it out of season 2 alive (literally HOW DID Nigari manage that!?), it was thought that they would return in season three past. They also refused residency.
Banda (Hayato Isomura) and Yaba (Katsuya Maiguma), who played the Jack of Hearts game with Chishiya, also survived but decided to stay on as permanent Borderland residents. It’s unclear if they’ll return, but they could appear again in another game capacity.
Unfortunately, Tatta actually died after sacrificing himself so the team could defeat the Club Kings. And considering all of the Face Cards have been defeated, none of them will return. (RIP Mira, you sneaky queen!)
