Despite being the common and famous Ice Sword Wizard hero who led the country to victory in the past, he joins the Arnold Magic Academy and saves a girl from falling.
Some of the girls nearby were gossiping about how they heard a new student would be arriving late that day and how he was neither of noble birth nor a mage but was born into a commoner family.
Everyone disliked this fact, and the girl he saved was disgusted to have touched an ordinary person.
Ray is then addressed by name by a boy named Albert, who explains that only royalty and descendants of wizards are allowed to attend school as it is no place for commoners like Ray.
Rey states that there is a lot she wants to learn from the academy, and Albert tries to fight it, but their interaction is interrupted by a girl named Amelia, a member of one of the top three noble families.
Albert refuses to accept Rey and leaves, but Amelia happily introduces herself to our protagonist.
He points out how Rey was the first commoner to attend the academy, and that means she’s bound to impress someone with her talent.
Ray quickly made friends with some of the most influential students thanks to his kind and friendly nature.
Unfortunately, when those with sinister motives set in motion, Ray may soon have to use his true power to maintain the bonds that made his new life worthwhile.
Hyouken No Majutsushi Ga Sekai Wo Suberu, or The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World, was received to mixed reviews. That said, fans who enjoyed the show are wondering whether or not there will be a second season.

The light novel Hyouken No Majutsushi Ga Sekai Wo Suberu is written by Nana Mikoshiba and illustrated by Riko Korie. It began publishing on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō on October 25, 2019.
The series was acquired by Kodansha on July 2 and began publishing under their Ranbobe Bunko imprint.
At the time of writing, seven light novel volumes have been published, with the latest issue releasing on December 28, 2022.
