Isagi Yoichi finally manages to score his first goal in the Neo Egoist League, putting his team in front against the seemingly unbeatable Italian Ubers defense. Ubers target Canali is surprised to see the sudden change in Yoichi’s playing style. An unknown attack pattern of using his left foot to take a direct shot at goal is something not even the Ubers cover in their data, so this was a big surprise for them.
Canali asks Yoichi what he did in such a short amount of time to improve so much, so we get flashbacks from 5 days ago. Yoichi visits Kunigami in the gym to ask for his help with training. Yoichi expresses concern over his current playing style and how he is only good at shooting with his right foot, so he needs a Kunigami to teach him how to be a two-footed shooter.
Kunigami was fed up with this sudden request and immediately refused Yoichi’s request. Yoichi still insists on at least practicing with him. Still, Kunigami explains that it will do more harm than good for him since he is forced to become a two-legged player. Still, if Yoichi tried and trained like him, then it was possible that his body’s balance would be disturbed, and his performance would suffer.
Kunigami leaves, saying that real footballers never look for shortcuts to get better. Yoichi understands her concern and only asks to watch the Kunigami practice session when Chigiri enters the arena. Yoichi understands Chigiri’s and Bachira’s training method as he thinks about how the two of them got better by making small changes to their weapons instead of completely changing their playing style. He now realized that he needed a new secondary weapon that complemented his “Direct fire” weapon rather than being a two-footed weapon.
